This original drawing of a peregrine falcon, crouching with its wings over its prey, or know as ‘mantling’. Falcons do this when their prey is too big to carry off and it’s in danger of being stolen by other predators.

This intense bird of prey is the fastest falcon, and this illustration captures its strength at rest.
