"This was, in a certain way, a piece of performance art as it came to life in front of a lively Charleston, SC passing crowd who stopped by at the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in 2020. Based on a photograph of a GSP at Selwood Farm in Alpine, AL, by the talented Craig Godwin, I set up my easel with my iPad and watercolors in the Gray's Sporting Journal booth and laid out a study of what I'd paint as a larger piece for the passing patrons of SEWE. I was privileged to join Gray's Sporting Journal as their featured artist as I'd done the previous year, and this final painting has been made available for purchase."
